Donor Privacy Policy

Adopted by Homes with Hope, Inc. Board of Directors

April 28, 2014

Homes with Hope, Inc., as a nonprofit, looks to numerous organizations and individuals to financially support the work done by the agency. Homes with Hope’s mission is to support the homeless and those at-risk of homelessness in the communities we serve by providing food, safe emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, and the supportive services needed to achieve a more independent and self-sufficient life. Homes with Hope believes that protecting the privacy of their donor’s information is tantamount to building public trust.

As a result, Homes with Hope has developed this Privacy Policy specifically addressing how our donor’s information is handled. Homes with Hope assures that information about our donors is handled with respect and confidentiality.

Homes with Hope will not sell, trade or share a donor’s personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations OR it will only share personal information once the donor has given Homes with Hope specific permission to do so.

Credit card donations made online are securely handled by reputable third party payment systems, including Network for Good ("Donate Now") and Authorize.net, each of which provides the complex infrastructure and security necessary to ensure fast, reliable and secure transmission of transaction data. Credit card donations made directly to Homes with Hope are processed swiftly and credit card information is immediately shredded once the transaction is completed. Homes with Hope does not retain ANY donor credit card information. Donors have the right to “Opt-Out” of being listed in agency publications, such as Homes with Hope’s Donor Listing within the agency’s Annual Report and will be listed as “Anonymous.” Any questions relating to Homes with Hope’s donor privacy can be directed to Helen McAlinden, President & CEO of Homes with Hope (hmcalinden@hwhct.org or 203.226.3426 ext.14).
