Gillespie Center

Gillespie Center

Announcement Date: January 1, 1989

The men’s shelter was at the Vigilant Firehouse until the Spring of 1989 when it relocated across the river to an old maintenance shed owned by the Town of Westport. The new facility was named the Gillespie Center in honor of Jim Gillespie, IHA’s Board President who had been killed in a traffic accident while vacationing in France.
